Forma Collective London
Forma Collective London present Clay/Leather/Metal/Stone/Wood, a showcase of contemporary craft featuring selected pieces from five makers all based at Thames-Side Studios in South East London.
Coming from different disciplines but all strongly rooted in their respective material practices, the show offers an opportunity to see and buy original, exciting, beautiful, handmade work directly from the makers.
Forma Collective London is:
Nettie Birch
A metalsmith & jeweller specialising in fold-forming and, more recently, silversmithing. The self-tutored daughter of an engineer, Nettie enjoys experimentation and problem-solving to push the boundaries of her medium. Nettie will be showing vessels and tableware in silver as well as more industrial metals, always seeking to make the ordinary, extraordinary.
Jane Cairns
A ceramicist who finds beauty in the ordinary, in the accidental poetry in the unnoticed and overlooked. Taking an experimental approach to ceramic processes and materials to create the forms, colours and textures she finds in the urban environment her work captures the unexpected, quiet beauty of neglected environments and found objects.
Bertram Whitford
A furniture maker with an eye for detail and a passion for making. He creates beautiful desks, cabinets and seating –and everything in between – that are a pleasure to behold, touch and use. Specialising in creating innovative, bespoke pieces, he ensures they are designed around the client’s individual style, environment and needs.
